I have been around boats all my life. It all started with a tiny little day cruiser that my grandpa had back in the 60's. In the late 60's, grandpa upgraded to a 24' Ownens cabin cruiser. This boat got my daddy's blood pumping to get his own boat. In 1971, Daddy got a 24' LoneStar/Chryser cabin cruiser and in 1972 upgraded to a early to mid 60's 29' Owens Flagship cabin cruiser.

In 1976, I saved up all my money for a co=op job that I worked in highschool for my own early 60's model 14' Starcraft runnabout. My dad and I spent many hours stripping her down and putting all new seats and paint on her. In 1981, my dad got sick and was not able to keep up with the maintenance on the Owens anymore and had to sell it. I wanted so bad to buy it from him, but he said the old wooden boat would be too much upkeep for me to handle. I continued to use my Starcraft for about another 2 years and then it sat along side mom and dads house deteriorating away. I finally gave the old girl to a friend of mine in 1992.

Almost 10 years had passed before I started getting the feaver again after visiting some friends in Florida, who took us out on their boat a couple times during our stay. The very next day we got back home, my mom and I went out "window shopping" for boats and I found the Twain on the first visit. It was love at first site and affordable.

Six years have now passed since the day I last used Kathy's Fantasy and she finally got to go back in the water a few days ago. We found a seasonal slip to keep her about 40 miles away. Well, a lot can happen to a boat after sitting 6 years, and when my husband and I went to spend a day with her a few days ago, she had almost a foot of standing water in her. Ugh...the things that we dont think about like bellows in the out-drive. So back out of the water she came yesterday, and is now sitting in dry dock until we can tear into the outdrive.
