40 y/o male from north carolina....this is my first big boat, and am looking forward to the upcoming interaction with the boating community. im planning on cruising the great loop one of these days when i get her ready...maybe 100 years from now, lol

Im currently looking for solutions for missing exhaust logs on the ole girl.....i think ive found a great place to start looking though, a place up north that just bought all the old gray marine stock and is opening a warehouse and will soon be producing replacement parts !

spring is just around the corner in these parts....i can almost smell the water from here ! :), as soon as i get the trailer finished im going to start on the bottom and get everything finished there so once i set her on the trailer i wont have to worry with picking her back up again....i got the props i have polished, they are 13X10 three blades, so i may end up needing bigger ones, we'll just have to wait and see. i also got the original spotlight rechromed....and let me tell you, shes a beauty !....i cant wait to fire her up one the boat for the first time !

im not sure my "conquor each hurdle" as it happens approach is going to be the speediest way to the finish line, but it sure will be a load off my shoulders as each seperate little piece of the puzzle goes back together. mainly because i know i wont have to worry about it until all the means have equaled an end

Cruise find others...
i plan on cruising the Great Loop in the next 5-10 years, im a member of the AGLCA (Americas great loop cruisers association) an simply love the idea of living aboard !
Day Trip find others...
as soon as i get MHYZHEN splashed, im going to start cruising the cape fear river between here and wilmington, NC....about 110 miles of river, and ICW between wilmington and southport. im planning on plenty of river camping as i call it. i figure it will be good practice for "hooking" it while on the loop
Liveaboard find others...
i'll be living aboard most weekends "getting in the grove" in preparation for my ultimate adventure cruising the great loop. i have 3 day weekends, and then vacation time that i will use to "shake her down" before the big day
Raftup find others...
i was lucky enough to be involved on a raftup while up in Michigan a few summers back and look totaly forward to bringing that experience to the local boaters in my area
Scuba find others...
if i finally figure out a way to become independently wealthy, ide love to spend a few years bouncing around in the carribean.....and if your in the carribean, its like a rule that you scuba :)
Water Sports find others...
not sure if i will be doing any water sports other then maybe pulling a few tubes with some friends while lingering down the river
Work find others...
Im sort of tossing around the idea of getting my six-pack liscence and doing sunset dinner cruises up and down my area of the river, and maybe some sort of sunday brunch cruise also......would be kind of neat i think since no one around here is doing anything like that....also the city is building a great new riverside park right down from Cambleton Landing (fayettevilles own version of a glorified boat ramp sorta kinda marina)
