Well I grew up on the Potomac river. My parents live there, we have had some form of boat since before I was even born. My mother was the first person to introduce me to sailing. The sunfish on my profile was originally hers. I started solo sailing when I was about nine. I started on a snark, then the sunfish. Finally my mother bought the Helsen 22. That was my project boat, she payed the initial investment. And I made her sea worthy. I have logged probably thousands of hours on the water in the sailboats, as well as the motor boats that my brothers, and the rest of the family own. I lived on the 22 at the end of my pier for a year. That was fun, a little cramped but still cool. I've done up a week and a half trip on the Helsen without coming to shore, for more than a meal at a restaurant or two. I pretty much just all around love sailing. I'm currently about to take ownership of a 28' Irwin sailboat. To start another renovation/restoration project. I can't wait to have that boat in ship shape, I would love to do some extended cruises on it. Pretty much just live my life as best I can, and try to get out on the boats as often as i can.
