I live on a farm southwest of Calgary, Canada with my wife and our youngest of 3 sons is still at home. We have 5 horses which I am very fond of (when they are not wrecking stuff) and 2 dogs that enjoy the water. We are 5 1/2 hours from our cabin on Kootenay lake and try to get there twice a month. As crazy as this may sound, 8 or 10 hours on the tractor or swather is almost as relaxing as being on the water, don't get me wrong, I would trade my swather for a leaky boat in a heartbeat.

Cruise find others...
Spent 6 days on a Grand Banks 36 Clasic. Started from Granville Island and our first stop was Snug Cove on Bowen Island, second day we crossed the Strait of Georgia to Silva Bay on Gabriola Island where we spent our second night. The third day we were off to Pirates Cove on Decourcy Island for lunch and then to Conover Cove on Wallace Island for the night. The fourth day started with a cruise to Ganges Harbour on Saltspring Island for lunch then off to Poets Cove (Bedwell Harbour) on South Pender Island for the evening. The fourth day was a quick morning cruise to Saturna Beach on Saturna Island where we walked up to the winery for lunch then off to Montague Harbour on Galliano Island where we spent our last night at anchor. Our last day was a quick trip through Porlier pass, across the strait and back to False Creek where we began...........if you have never cruised the Gulf Islands you are really missing out...we are planning another trip there in August. We spent the last 25 or so years enjoying the Flathead Lake in Montana and a few years back we sold our property and bought on the east shore of Kootenay Lake in British Columbia. Up until now we have seldom been on the water in the dark unless tied to the dock. The lake has a few areas suitable for overnighting so we plan on exploring that in the summer.
Fishing find others...
Lots of hours spent reeling in Lake Trout, prize fresh water catch to date was a 27.5 pound Laker caught on the Flathead Lake. Have also fished salt water on docks and off shore in Vancouver growing up. Did some open water stuff in the Bahamas but sadly only managed to drown a small Barracuda. Since relocating our vacation spot to Kootenay Lake we have been pursuing the Gerrard Rainbow Trout with limited luck, but I'm sure that will change.

I am PADI certified as an advanced open water diver with certification as a rerscue diver. I also have taken the courses for the following, dry suit, enriched air, wreck, and night diving. I also have TDI advanced Nitrox diver certification. My diving experience is mostly cold fresh water in Canada but have dove between Miami and Key Largo as well as east coast of Mexico and the south end of the Exumas.

I am a Journeyman mechanic and hold Canadian interprovincial certification in both automotive and heavy duty (diesel) fields. In 1990 I took time away from being covered in grease and spent 5 years at Alberta College of Art & Design where I majored in the Jewellery & Metals program. Two years into art school I started making body jewellery for a local piercing shop and things escalated drastically, within 3 years I had 17 employees and we worked 2 shifts supplying over 400 piercing shops in North America. I also opened a piercing/tattoo shop in Calgary, Canada. In 2004 I had had enough fun with the freak show and closed operations, retired briefly then bought a real estate appraisal company which I currently work full time at. My next job will be running a fishing charter company which I plan on pursuing within the next 5 or so years.
