Here are a few things we learned:
*Outboard trolling - When trolling with the wind and in calm seas the autopilot steers fine. Sometimes going upwind caused the bow to push and the autopilot would fault out because the rudder can't bite enough water to steer the course. Not good with lines out.... See all blog posts...

FISHING EQUIPMENT
Two Big Jon electric downriggers with 52" booms on Traxstech 3" swivel mounts and quick slides, 4 Bert's ratchet holders for dipsies and birds, Bert's tool holders, all on two 48" Bert's track. Fish Hawk X4, Par-Max washdown pump, Okuma line counter reels on Okuma downrigger, dipsy, and copper rods, Igloo "Salmon Coffin" mounted on swim platform.
PAINT AND BRIGHT WORK
Bottom paint stripped to bare metal and recoated with antifoul in 2006 (Interlux Trilux 33). Hard top, sun deck, trim, new aluminum tracks for sliding windows, fixed window frames and windshield glass removed and refurbished, all salon teak (Goldspar) done in 2007 (Interlux Brightside and powder coating on trim). Gunnel, coamings, and nonskid deck paint (Brightside and powder coating on trim). Also new Perko bilge vent cowls, Perko LED step plates, Perko navigation lights, and a HD SS sampson post (2008).

I like my 28' Marinette because I can trailer it anywhere. Here in Michigan, because of it's wide beam, I can only do it during daylight hours M-F. That's OK because it makes for a nice 4 day weekend.
