Hi, and thanks for the comments...That "blue thing" is called a Boat Bunker. I saw it 2 years ago at the Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach boat show and was curious too. Back then I had a 25' Doral and even though I had a trailer for it, living on the water here in South Florida, I knew I'd use it more often if I could keep it in the water. I really didn't have room for a lift and was looking for a cost effective alternative. I also didn't want to paint the bottom of the Doral, as that would have de-valued the boat, so when I saw this thing and met the owner I thought I'd give it a try. They call it a mouring statiion...There is a back gate that you can open (and close) and once you drive your boat in and close the gate, no oxygen gets in and so nothing grows. There is also an enzyme you can put in there to keep it clean too. I was probably one of a first that decided to buy it and try it, and after keeping the boat in it for about a year, when I did pull it out to clean it and sell it (wanted a bigger boat of course) the bottom had some silt and dirt, but no growth. Pretty cool. I sold the Doral and decided on the 320 Sundancer. Love the boat and since I sold mine thru the web, I looked to buy a 320 there too. I bought it in Kentucky where it was a fresh water boat and had it transported here and again I wanted to keep it clean, so I bought another larger bunker. I figure if I don't have to haul and bottom paint every year, it will pay for itself in a few years. It's been 6 months, and so far so good.

I wondered that, too? What is it, and if there's a benefit, do tell! (Looks like there might be.)

P.S. And agreed - a very nice boat!

Nice boat, but what is the blue thing around the hull?
